Suji Ka Sheera -- Weight Gain Recipe For Little Ones | Healthy For Everyone

Suji Ka Sheera (Semolina Halwa) is a traditional Gujarati dish commonly called Sheera or call it halwa. Widely used as a kind of sweet dish/dessert but the same is very nutritional for little ones.

It is made from traditionally known healthy ingredients and because of that, it makes a good choice for little ones.

Ingredients:
1/4 Cup Suji (Semolina)
1/2 Cup Milk (use breastmilk for below one year baby)
1/2 Cup Water (boiled)
1-2 tablespoon Ghee
1-2 tablespoons Nutribud Foods Dates Powder or Chemical free Jaggery
1 teaspoon Almond Powder & Walnuts Powder 
Optional -- A Pinch of Cardamom Powder (flavour), Cashew Powder


Cooking Instructions:
(1) Dry roast almonds & walnuts and allow them to cool down. Use a blender to powder it.
(2) Take a pan and on a medium flame add ghee.
(3) Now add Suji (Semolina) and roast it on a low flame. Stir continuously until you get a nutty aroma and Suji (Semolina) turned golden.
(4) Now heat water and milk in a new pan. And then slowly add to the roasted Suji (semolina). Stir continuously to avoid forming lumps.
(5) Take the mixture and cook on a low flame. Stir continuously till you get a soft consistency. It should not be watery.
(6) Add Nutribud Foods Dates Powder (Or Jaggery) and mix it well. (As per requirements you can adjust the sweetness).
(7) Add Almonds & Walnut powder and mix it well.
(8) Use Cardamom Powder for flavour (Optional)

 

Allow it to cool down and feed your little one. Always prefer to keep it moderately sweet for little ones. Also, you can give this to toddlers/anyone in the family just use pieces of nuts instead of powder.

 

Note -- Consult your pediatrician before introducing anything new to the baby. Nuts & Milk are allergic avoid using them.
